REV. GEORGE IOANNOU
Holy Trinity Youth D I A K O N I A S E R V I C E
The spiritual and communal benefits of our being baptized into the Holy Orthodox Church gives people of all ages to fully live a life in Christ. Activities offered to the children of Holy Trinity provide opportunities for all to grow in faith while engaging in creative activities as a family of faith.
Active Youth Ministries
SUNDAY SCHOOL
From September to June, our devoted, caring teachers encourage spiritual growth in the lives of our youngest parishioners. In addition to learning about our faith, the classes provide an opportunity for the children to socialize and share a sense of community with others. For more information, please contact Carman Gaetanos (carmgaet@aol.com).
HOPE (Grades 1-4) & JOY (Grades 5-8)
The children meet regularly on the 3rd Saturdays of each month after Great Vespers, attend local church retreats, and volunteer in Church ministries. For more information, please contact Pam DiLullo (prdilullo@yahoo.com), or Presvytera Lisa (lisa294ever@msn.com).
GOYA (Grades 9-12)
These youngsters are active in Church ministries, committees, retreats, & groups (including Acolytes, Outreach, Missions, Greek Dance, etc.), and are fully dedicated volunteers for all Church events, as well as mentors to those younger. Youth Leadership is encouraged. For more information, please contact Margo Kelley (margonk@aol.com).
NISIOTES & ASTERIA DANCERS
We are fortunate to have two groups of dancers. The main group – Nisiotes - is made up primarily of junior high, high school and college age adults, and the other group – Asteria - is for younger children, age 3 through fifth grade. These groups learn dances from various parts of Greece, and wear traditional costumes as they perform at our annual Greek Festival in October and Greek Nite in May. Everyone loves them! For more information, please contact Staci Lagoutaris for the Asteria Dance Troupe (sglagos@bellsouth.net), and nisiotes@gmail.com for the Nisiotes Dance Troupe.
